The connection between MSI and Christian Fellowship Church of the Philippines, founded by Benito (deceased) and June Pacleb, is a very interesting one. Please sit back and enjoy this story that began in 1966.
In 1966, my father, Pastor Richard Myers, founder of Rochester Hills Family Worship Center (which was previously, Avondale Faith Tabernacle) was evangelizing in the Philippine Islands at a Bible School in Cotabato City, Kabacan, on the island of Mindanao.
Pastor Richard was invited to speak to the Bible students, under the direction of the founders, Charles and Wave Bristle.
On the last evening of the nightly services, Rev. Myers called out to speak a Word to a young man standing in the very back of the church. When the fellow heard that he was the one being spoken to, he was so convicted by the Holy Spirit that he ran to the altar. The people in the congregation erupted in amazement and excitement. Rev. Myers told him that God was giving him one more chance; that the Lord wanted to change his life forever. His name was well known in the area as Benito Pacleb – a gang leader that was terrorizing the bible school and the local community. He was feared by everyone.
But, that particular, God-ordained evening changed his life for eternity. This young gang leader gave his heart to the Lord and eventually enrolled in Bible school. He began evangelizing the gospel of Jesus Christ and became well known in the Philippine Islands as a dynamic evangelist. Many thousands of people accepted the Lord through these crusades.
Then, in 1966, He met his lovely wife, June and shortly after, they married and moved to Negros Island to begin their ministry together planting churches and leading evangelistic crusades in western Negros. Many churches were planted and established.
In 1974, they moved their base operations to Dumaguete City where they held salvation and healing crusades, resulting in another church plant. They continued to hold many crusades all over the island changing lives by the thousands.
The Christian Fellowship Church of the Philippines, a full-gospel fellowship of churches, was established with the goal to evangelize the Philippines with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish local indigenous churches.
In 1980, Benito and June opened CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP SCHOOL OF MINISTRY to train pastors for the ministry. Since then, they have continued to train pastors, planting over 130 churches as they continued sharing the Good News throughout the islands. June is continuing this great work with the help of wonderful teachers and ministers of the Gospel. In everything, to God be the Glory!
The affiliated pastors hold credentials with the Fellowship and are autonomous in their own local churches, while recognizing their part in the Fellowship as a whole. Regular pastors’ conferences and seminars provide opportunity for pastors and church leaders to strengthen fellowship ties and to be encouraged spiritually. This goal remains the same: to know Christ and to make Him known!
Until the whole world knows…
