Yes, we lift up our heads and hearts to the King of glory and He comes in to us! We are so blessed to live in His Presence! We are also happy to share again with you some of the good things happening here!
As I mentioned in my last newsletter, we have several new congregations being pioneered here in Negros Island this year. One of these is the church in Canlaon City, a big town in northern Negros Island situated on the flanks of the active Canlaon volcano. This new congregation has several faithful and dedicated families worshipping and serving God together. We were blessed this year to purchase the land for the church here. Now we are starting the church building construction!!
The construction started August 24, with cementing the footing for the big strong posts that will form the walls of the church! The posts are set in a foundation of stones and interlocked iron bars which were then solidly cemented! We are so excited for the start of this good building which will be a lighthouse for the whole city and surrounding areas. The pastor there is in charge of the work, with experienced foremen. The church members are also donating their labor to haul and prepare the building materials and to mix cement (by hand, of course)! I am happy to share pictures of this work with you. Please pray for the finances to carry through this big project, for the glory of God!
