Hi Chuck and Lori,

THANK YOU for helping in Cuba, Brazil and Mexico and specifically with the church planting project with Pastor Miguel in the mountains of Oaxaca.  Here is a link to a lot of photos and a few videos of Pastor Manuel and the team working on pouring the cement floor in the church in El Mosco.

He talks on the videos, but only in Spanish! My goal is to translate and put subtitles on one of the videos. But he is thanking everyone of course for the help but then also explaining that the building will also be used to receive groups of missionary doctors and medicine so that they can provide medical care and exams. There is no health care in that village at all. So now the church will also be a MEDICAL CLINIC.

Yes, you are helping to build a medical clinic.

The ministry that will provide the doctors and medicine is Roca Blanca Missions Base. It is where we went to language school. When these folks do their medical missions in these mountain villages, it is awesome! They have doctors and nurses (both Mexicans and those who come in from the US and Canada) that do consultations with each patient, etc. and then give treatments and medicines. They also pray for the sick and see many miracles!

They also have a dentist who pulls teeth (yes, mostly just pulls teeth that are causing pain because these are folks who have never been to a dentist, their teeth are bad bad bad, but at least they can get relief from tooth aches!). The dentist is Pastor Manuel’s daughter-in-law, Adriana. She is a missionary dentist. How cool is that?

The teams that go into these villages for the medical outreach also take people who work with and evangelize the children. And they have a full-time, on staff EVANGELIST; Pastor Jesus is his name. We know him, he is a wonderful man. Each person, either before or after their medical consultation, has a spiritual consultation with Pastor Jesus where they are able to hear the Gospel, receive prayer, and where many of them receive Jesus Christ as their Savior!!! And they are introduced to the pastor that is in their village and connected with the church. Pretty awesome, huh???
Isn’t God amazing?

So, you are now linking arms, not only with us and GDM and Pastor Manuel and Ruben and Dr. Adriana the Dentist, but with an entire missions base, medical missionaries, Mexican pastors and evangelists and lay ministers… all working together to bring the Gospel and practical help to these people who are so far from the Lord (worshiping idols and in witchcraft), and yet for whom Christ died and whom He loves with an everlasting love. I don’t know about you, but that to me is just breathtakingly beautiful. The Bride of Christ, operating in Her calling and activating Her gifts under the anointing of the Holy Spirit is truly beautiful in her splendor. Perhaps the most beautiful bride is not the one in her perfect white dress, but the Bride with muddy and bloody work boots, serving lost humanity in the hard places. Thank you for being a part of THAT Bride, that Body.

Here are those pics and videos of the cement floor that will soon be used as the church AND medical clinic:

… and yes, that is Pastor Manuel doing the cement work WITH his team. He is a master builder for all construction projects! He built most of the buildings that house the Roca Blanca Missions Base and many churches all around the mountains of Oaxaca.

We love you guys! Thank you again!

We love and appreciate you so much. The friendship, the prayer, the tangible help to spread the Gospel to those who have never heard the Good News of Jesus!  Here is a video of a Thank You message from Pastor Manuel and his son Ruben. Ruben is translating into English for you! Yaaaay! One really cool thing is that Pastor Manuel is not speaking SPANISH. He is speaking his first language, Mixteco!  His son Ruben is literally one of the few people on the planet who can translate straight from Mixteco to English, so you are actually experiencing something pretty special as you listen to their words. It is a little long (8 minutes) but we hope you enjoy it.

The new roof of Pastor Manuel’s church in Mechoacán is going on as we speak (photos attached):

The cement floor in El Mosco (for the church/medical clinic) has been poured and the bathrooms have been completed there as well. They have purchased the gate for the fence around the building and have purchased and installed the door and window and bed that was needed to have a small “guest room” there so that either the pastor can sleep there or a visiting doctor for the medical clinic. All of these practical things, that they had no idea HOW the Lord would provide them, are vehicles for the preaching of the Gospel and the advancement of God’s Kingdom in Oaxaca.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Your giving, both prompted and multiplied by the Lord, is changing lives for eternity.

We love you and MISS you,
Jes and Kristen
