Note: I (Kristen) went to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico to begin the preparations for our big Evangelism Campaign there in December. In December we will have three days of 3 Gospel trucks taking the Good News of Jesus straight to the people right where they are in the streets, marketplaces, villages, school yards, etc. And then Three nights of a great Gospel Crusade either right on the beach or in the city square in Puerto Escondido and thousands and thousands of men and women, teenagers, and children, tourists and locals will be radically born again and planted into local churches.
This trip to Puerto Escondido included 2 very important Pastors’ Meetings; ministry to children, teenagers, and teachers in two different schools; a big outreach night – “Una Noche de Esperanza y Sanidad, A night of Hope and Healing,” preaching at a few churches, and a time of pouring into the children’s and youth pastors of the region.

Hello and thank you for praying, for giving, for sending us on this important mission! So much was happening all at once. I won’t be able to capture it all here, but here is a bit of a field report for you 😊.
Friday, April 29th: Samuel Hornle and I went to Instituto Alfa School to share the Gospel and the infilling of the Holy Spirit with about 110 children in three different groups. Preschoolers and Kindergarten, then 1st-4th graders, then 5th-8th graders. We saw about 40 children respond with a YES to the Jesus and His offer of Salvation and then a YES to the gift of the Holy Spirit!
One cool testimony from that day: There was a young woman volunteering at the school that day… her name is Scarlet and she is from England. Scarlet was sitting with a group of children listening to Samuel share a simple Gospel message and she was crying the entire time! She put up both of her hands, kind of low, and timidly, in response to Samuel’s question: “Do you want to repent from your sin and follow Jesus?” Will you pray for Scarlet? She might have thought she was going to Mexico to do some volunteering and have some fun but God took her there to meet JESUS!
Later that day we went out door to door inviting people to the Night of Hope and healing (NHH). Out in the neighborhood, Samuel ad Gina led one person to Jesus! Later Samuel and Gina shared the Gospel with an 11 year old girl who WORKS at the taco cart, Paola and Paola said YES to Jesus!
Saturday, April 30th: The Night of Hope and Healing! We set up 400 chairs and I would say that the space was about 2/3 filled! Praise God! Get this…. a sweet little dove showed up at the school (we were at Instituto Alfa, outside on the “playground”) about 2 hours before the event started and stayed the whole time! That dove landed on the microphone stand about an hour before we started and STAYED THERE the whole time… through the music, the preaching, altar calls, etc. that little dove just sat there on that microphone stand haha! So I don’t know exactly what to do with that, but we just said Yes Lord, thank you for reminding us that the Holy Spirit is with us ALWAYS and that He isn’t going to fly away!
We preached a clear Gospel message and 12 people came forward to receive Jesus as Savior! All with tears and sincerity of heart. At least two young men from a local drug rehab center got DELIVERED from addiction right there at the altar.
We prayed for physical healing of course (why? Because Jesus LOVES to heal people too!). Here are a few testimonies from that night:
One older lady was completely healed from a severe back problem that cause lots of pain and she couldn’t walk well. During the prayer for healing Samuel called out that God was giving someone a brand-new spinal column and as he said that she testified that she felt the fire of God go all the way through her spine, she was shaking and worshipping, and all the pain left her body. When she came to testify, she showed us how she can now bend over and walk without pain! Glory to God!
One of the young men from the drug rehab who gave his life to the Lord and was delivered at the altar, testified of a physical healing. He had been diagnosed with stomach cancer, he was quite thin, and also was in pain. During the prayer for healing, he said that he felt freezing cold hit his stomach, and then felt like something was breaking inside of him (like an egg shell breaking), and then he testified that it felt like something left his body and all the pain left with it! We asked him to please go to the doctor to get examined and a report of healing so he can show the evidence of what the Lord has done.
There were more physical healings and people who were delivered…all glory and honor to JESUS.
Sunday, May 1st: It was a long, HOT, sweaty, Holy Ghost filled day!!!! Sunday morning service at Mission Vida church was just a totally outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Incredible. About 35 people went forward to either receive Jesus for the 1st time or come back to the Lord and receive forgiveness for sin!! While Samuel, Don, and Gina were ministering at the altar, I went into the congregation, talked to and then prayer with several young people who I could see were under conviction but didn’t go forward. One 18 year old girl, when I asked her if God was talking to her, she began to cry and said, Yes and said it was her first time ever at the church. We got through two sentences of a prayer for salvation (Jesus, I need you! Jesus, please forgive me now…”) when she collapsed under the glory of God, weeping in repentance, so much breaking off her! I called over a lady from the church to continue ministering to her. I turned to her 16-year-old brother to ask him if wanted to follow Jesus, he said YES and was also born again!
SUPER COOL TESTIMONY from Sunday morning. As I was on the platform ministering (and the anointing of the Holy Spirit was sooo thick)… I saw a white lady, blond hair in the back. Foreigners stand out In Puerto Escondido! So, she came forward for the altar call to receive a new heart from Jesus and also for healing! Later I talked to her later, her name is Bobbi, she is from IRELAND, just visiting Puerto Escondido. She was walking by the church, heard the music, and came in. She doesn’t speak Spanish. I preached in Spanish for about 5 minutes then switched to English with a translator, then Samuel preached in English with a translator. At the altar call for salvation, Bobbi rushed forward to receive Christ. Can you believe God brought her all the way to Southern Mexico from Ireland to hear the Gospel and put us there in the same church on the same day as she walked by??? Oh the Love of our wonderful Savior!
Sunday night: We drove 3 hours to arrive in Mechoacán, a small Mixteco town where our dear friend Pastor Manuel has a church. We (Great Door Ministries, with your help!) has put the roof on this church, built the bathrooms there and more. Pastor Manuel and his mission team from this church are planting churches in two other Mixteco villages (El Mosco and Ixtayutla) in the mountains there. We helped purchase the land, built bathrooms and poured concrete floors in these churches and we support the missions team with food and gasoline as they drive up the mountain once every 3 weeks to build and minister the Gospel. The church in Mechoacán was very happy to receive us and I was crying the whole time I was there with these precious Mixteco people. Samuel and I preached in English, it was translated to Spanish and then into Mixteco! The altars were filled people seeking deliverance from generational curses and other things tied to ancestral worship. One man was instantly healed of severe eye problems. The discomfort left and his sight returned! JESUS, our HEALER and DELIVERER!
Monday, May 2nd afternoon at 2pm was our Pastors’ Meeting for Hope for Oaxaca. Thank you for praying for this important meeting! We had 38 pastors in attendance as we presented the vision for Hope for Oaxaca, the evangelism campaign and movement that will launch in Puerto Escondido in December 2022. Praise God, there was such a sense of UNITY and LOVE in the room… what a miracle! And then after the meeting, the pastors were excited, and they are HUNGRY for revival. Many have already had dreams and visions from the Lord about tis movement! Long before we arrived! During the meeting I mentioned the word Tsunami, saying that is what the Lord gave us… that a wave of soul winning would sweep through the state. One pastor’s wife came to me quickly after we ended the meeting to tell me that 3 years ago the Lord gave her a dream of a spiritual TSUNAMI sweeping over Oaxaca and she has been praying into that ever since. There were numerous reports just like this. One heartbreaking aspect of this meeting for me was speaking to multiple pastors, especially in remote areas, saying, “We need you to come to our region NOW. Please come help us!” The passion of these pastors to see the people in their villages, towns, and cities saved and set free from the devil is radical. If churches in the US had this kind of burden to see people set free in their cities at any cost… America would experience revival. We have so much in the US and don’t do much with it to reach the lost. Most of our resources are spent to make the already saved happy and comfortable at church. Thank God for our pastor who has a burden for missions and for souls!!
These Oaxaca pastors’ have so little and yet are winning people to Jesus and discipling them every day. One pastor I spoke to works nights (I think in a factory?) so he can earn enough to put gas in his car to drive 5 hours to a remote area every week to evangelize and disciple people in a tiny town that no one has ever heard of. BUT there in that place, God has a people, a remnant who are being saved, set free, and who are learning God’s Word because of his sacrifice. THAT is a shepherd. I met a pastor who WALKS 12 hours each way to a remote area every week to carry the Good News of Jesus to a people who have never heard it. Oh Jesus, change my heart, make me like YOU. Make me like these unknown men and women. Help us Lord, to help them. Show us HOW to come alongside them!!
Tuesday, May 3rd night, we had the honor of ministering to 100 youth and children’s works/pastors from many different towns and villages. There faithful servants come from very humble places and circumstances, yet they are giving themselves to reach and teach the children and teenagers of this region. The Lord told me that some were being tormented with nightmares and tormented in their minds with fear. At least one third of the people stood to receive prayer for this! The Holy Spirit moved so powerfully, setting so many free and also healing hearts. We also saw multiple instantaneous, demonstrative healings. One lady (who we know very well) could not straighten her fingers in one hand due to a fall and injury several years ago. She received totally healing – she could completely straighten her fingers and use her hand as if there had never been an injury! After suffering for one year, another lady was completely healed of sciatic nerve pain in her back and leg… instantly! Another woman had terrible pain in her head for the past week and it all left instantly! Oh how the Lord touched and renewed His precious children that night. It was glorious. Thank you for praying. All of the glory belongs to Jesus!
Thursday, May 5th morning, we had the honor of speaking with the Zone Pastors of Roca Blanca. These 8 pastors represented dozens of churches and multiple language groups in various regions of the state of Oaxaca. We shared the vision of the Hope for Oaxaca movement, and these pastors were very excited. They want to work in unity to bring Jesus to the most remote villages of their state as well as the cities. They are HUNGRY for revival!
There is more to share and of course more specific testimonies. I can tell you that God was answering your prayers for souls, breakthrough, and healing! THANK YOU FOR PRAYING. We are looking at the 5th-10th of December for the launch of the Hope for Oaxaca Gospel Campaign (3 days of Gospel trucks followed by 3 nights of Crusade).
We sense the need to start sending people to train the pastors and churches in evangelism. The goal is not that we go and reach all these regions. No! We want to support, train, strengthen, help, and inspire the churches who are already there to do this work. Let’s pray about this together. If we seek God’s heart first and foremost, if we seek to intimately know Jesus more, He will release to us His strategies and resources to bring in this end time HARVEST and spark revival in Oaxaca, Mexico!
WE LOVE YOU! Thank you ALL for your financial and prayer support! We cannot do this WITHOUT YOU! Your faithfulness reaches to the HEAVENS!
