Hello Friends and Partners,
As we get ready to close out another year of memories, we want to thank you for your prayers and support this year. It has been a very fruitful and blessed year for MSI. We have had the opportunity to travel and share the gospel, along with being with our missionaries, seeing the work that is being done, and hearing new visions that the Lord is placing upon their hearts.
This past month, I was able to travel to Brazil and visit the work that God has blessed us to be a part of. It has been over 40 years since I was last there. In 1978, I made a trip to Sao Paulo along with 3 of my friends, Jim Hart, Gary Hart and Jeff Becker, to see the orphanage that Jim’s parents had started. I returned home after a month and told my parents about the tremendous work there. When Billy Joe and Josephine Hart returned to the US for a brief time, we scheduled a service for them and immediately began supporting their ministry. Over 40 years later, we are still involved. Even though it has changed over the years, the ministry is seeing the fruits of their labor; much greater results than the Hart’s could have ever imagined.
While I was there in Sao Paulo, we worked in numerous places that are part of the extended ministry of Brazilian Children’s Outreach.
We met a young man and his wife that have started a children’s ministry. He grew up in BCO’s orphanage.
We visited a secular school operated by Christians. Because of our help to them, they have given us permission to have Christian school assemblies that will enable us to share Jesus Christ with the students. PTL!
We worked on a church building that is expanding. It’s been a long time since I have laid blocks for a foundation. Lol!
Little did we know or realize that 40 years later we would see the fruit of the vision coming back in such a powerful way. Many of the Brazilian children from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s are now productive adults and parents, doctors, lawyers, preachers, teachers, and pastors. They are continuing to “pay it forward” with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Only heaven and eternity will reveal what God has done through the obedience of His people. As this ministry continues to be a blessing to the people of Brazil, Kenya, Indonesia, the Philippine Islands, Turkey, Lithuania, Mexico, Cuba and the USA, our desire is to increase the influence and impact of MSI through giving to mission projects.
Through your support, MSI has provided textbooks and journals for each woman in need. Lori also mentors weekly by telephone to women that the Lord has placed in her life through other pastors from other states in the USA. It is amazing to see how the Lord is using this ministry through social media and by word of mouth.
We want to say thank you and tell you all how much we appreciate your giving, your heartfelt prayers, and your support. As we look forward to 2020, we see even greater needs on the horizon. The vision of our faithful missionaries is expanding rapidly because time is running short and eternity is drawing closer.
As our pastor recently reminded us, “There are only 2 types of people that God uses; either a “sender” or a “goer.” We believe that, through your faithfulness, we will be able to complete the mission that God has given us. We thank you!
