Beginning in 1962, God sent Uncle Bill and Aunt Barb Myers to the country of Indonesia. Their first project was to produce and print Sunday School material. This first began with a simple hand crank printer, but soon expanded to a printer that was able to print thousands of copies every day. Soon, they were sending out Christian material to hundreds of villages.
In the 70’s, God laid it upon Bill’s heart to begin audio recordings of the Bible and sending copies of these to the nation of Indonesia. Hundreds of hours of teaching series by very dedicated and anointed Indonesian ministers were recorded. Also much of the bible was translated and recorded for the multitudes of people that did not have a bible or were unable to read. It was difficult to keep up with the demand for duplication of these resources. But, God was just getting started.
The 80’s brought a new vision, along with new technology – video recordings. The ministry began to grow with the ability to video tape church services, teaching series, and children’s programs, etc., all in the Indonesian language. National ministers and evangelists began to seek out this opportunity. The programs began to be mass produced and were sent out to villages all across the country – with TV sets and generators in places that did not have normal electricity. Eventually, these programs were distributed to TV stations and sent out across the country wherever people could receive a TV signal.
These opportunities of expansion in ministry have pushed Tel A Village (TAV) forward. Now in the 21st Century, TAV is using satellite technology along with DVDs to reach the nation.
TAV’s goal is to reach each village in Indonesia with the gospel of Jesus Christ, leaving no village left untouched with the Good News! The fields are ripe for the harvest!
UNTIL THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS!
